The University of Seville and the cybersecurity company BeOneSec have signed an agreement to establish the new BeOneSec Chair in Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence.

Located at the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSi) of the University of Seville, the main objectives of this chair are to promote teaching and interdisciplinary research activities focused on the development of new strategies and technologies in the fields of cybersecurity and cyberintelligence, as well as to reflect on the current challenges in these areas.

The new chair will be led by Professor Rafael Estepa Alonso from the Department of Telematic Engineering at the University of Seville, with Professor José Manuel Fornés Rumbao from the same department serving as secretary. This chair will provide students with the opportunity to be part of an academic environment that fosters research and innovation.

BeOneSec, one of the leading companies in the cybersecurity sector, specializing in offensive security and cyberintelligence, is driving this initiative, marking a milestone in the collaboration between public universities and the private sector to promote research and development, innovation, and dissemination in one of the most critical and rapidly growing fields today: cybersecurity.

To achieve this, the chair’s activities will include the identification of prospective projects and studies, dissemination of their results, and the organization of joint R&D events.

Additionally, postgraduate and specialization courses will be organized for both students and professionals, along with outreach and educational activities aimed at increasing knowledge of cybersecurity and cyberintelligence. The chair will also host forums for interaction where academics, business leaders, and students can exchange ideas and knowledge. These activities will focus on strengthening talent and creating opportunities for young people, including scholarships for students and awards for the best projects related to the chair’s field.

This new initiative represents an excellent opportunity for the students of ETSi. Through this chair, students will not only receive practical training aligned with market needs but will also have the chance to participate in research activities that will enrich their academic and professional experience.

With the creation of the BeOneSec Chair in Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence, ETSi reinforces its commitment to excellence in education and innovation in a sector that is strategic for today’s society.
