{"id":924,"date":"2026-04-08T08:49:42","date_gmt":"2026-04-08T06:49:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/catedra.us.es\/ciberbeonesec\/?p=924"},"modified":"2026-04-08T09:07:15","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T07:07:15","slug":"la-catedra-beonesec-reconoce-el-talento-en-ciberseguridad-con-la-entrega-de-premios-a-tfg-y-tfm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/catedra.us.es\/ciberbeonesec\/en\/2026\/04\/08\/la-catedra-beonesec-reconoce-el-talento-en-ciberseguridad-con-la-entrega-de-premios-a-tfg-y-tfm\/","title":{"rendered":"The BeOneSec Chair Recognises Cybersecurity Talent with Awards for Undergraduate and Master\u2019s Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The<strong> BeOneSec Chair in Cybersecurity and Cyber Intelligence<\/strong> has held its awards ceremony recognising the best undergraduate (TFG) and master\u2019s (TFM) dissertations in cybersecurity, highlighting the talent, effort and ability of students to tackle real-world challenges in an increasingly demanding environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This event marks the culmination of a call with a clear objective: to foster the development of applied knowledge and bring academic research closer to the real challenges faced by industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recognising talent<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this edition, the awarded projects stood out for their practical approach, technical depth and ability to analyse real-world scenarios with direct societal impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the awards was granted to Alejandro Barranco Ledesma for his project: <strong>\u201cRisk and Vulnerability Analysis in the Access Control System of the Seville Metro\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A project focused on the security of critical infrastructures, analysing potential attack vectors and weaknesses in a system essential for urban mobility. Studies like this reinforce the importance of anticipating risks in environments that are part of the daily lives of thousands of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/catedra.us.es\/ciberbeonesec\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image-1-1024x683.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-926\" srcset=\"http:\/\/catedra.us.es\/ciberbeonesec\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image-1-1024x683.png 1024w, http:\/\/catedra.us.es\/ciberbeonesec\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image-1-300x200.png 300w, http:\/\/catedra.us.es\/ciberbeonesec\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image-1-768x512.png 768w, http:\/\/catedra.us.es\/ciberbeonesec\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image-1-900x600.png 900w, http:\/\/catedra.us.es\/ciberbeonesec\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image-1.png 1299w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second award went to: <strong>\u201cAnalysis of the Detection Capabilities of IDS Snort, FortiGate and Palo Alto NGFW in ICS Environments under the MITRE ATT&amp;CK Framework\u201d<\/strong> by Andr\u00e9s Mel\u00e9ndez Casado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A technical study addressing one of today\u2019s major challenges: the real effectiveness of detection tools in identifying threats within industrial environments. Using the MITRE ATT&amp;CK framework, the project provides a rigorous perspective on how different systems perform in complex scenarios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/catedra.us.es\/ciberbeonesec\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image-2-1024x683.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-927\" academic recognition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond the awards, these projects reflect something essential: the next generation of cybersecurity professionals is already prepared to face real-world challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both projects share a common essence \u2014 going beyond theory to analyse, question and improve systems that directly impact the security of organisations and citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the <strong>BeOneSec Chair in Cybersecurity and Cyber Intelligence<\/strong>, in collaboration with the <strong>University of Seville<\/strong>, we remain committed to initiatives that connect academic talent with the professional environment, creating spaces where learning becomes real impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recognising this kind of work not only drives those who develop it, but also raises the standard of the cybersecurity ecosystem, promoting a more
