The Chair of Economics of Energy and Environment brings together researchers from the University of Seville and other national and international research centers. Founded in 2011, it has been sponsored by Red Eléctrica de España since 2018. Its research papers and scientific reports are published in scientific journals with a high impact factor.

Along with the main research work, the Chair also performs consulting and knowledge transfer work in fields such as energy economics, climate change, socio-economic impact of the different technologies integrated in the energy mix, public promotion of these technologies or the economic valuation of health damage associated with environmental pollution.
